In re-designing our 7-passenger CX-9 for 2013, #Mazda engineers shared a goal of tuning it to drive like our sports cars. From a recent long-term evaluation by The Dallas Weekly:

“…It cruised effortlessly at almost 80 mph. It stayed center...ed, it crept up to 90 mph with just a nudge on the gas.”

“It was easy to forget that the CX-9 was a utility vehicle ... the MacPherson strut front suspension combined with the multi-link rear suspension made for a car-like ride; steering was feathery and there was not a lot of body sway.”

There's nothing like good news to close out the week. Our 2014 #Mazda6 with #SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY has just been awarded an "Advanced" rating from the IIHS, in addition to its "Top Safety Pick+" status.

The new designation recognizes i-ACTIVSENSE technologies aboard the new '6, such as milliwave radars and cameras that support the driver in recognizing hazards, avoiding collisions, and minimizing damage should accidents occur.

Mazda, Mazda5

Looking for a new family vehicle, but afraid of what might subtract from your style? So was Lisa from 5 Minutes for Mom—until she got behind the wheel of our 2013 Mazda5. Here's some of what she shared in yesterday's review:

"I am one of those women that always said that I would never drive a mini van." "I am happy to say that driving the Mazda 5 was a great “eye opener!"

"The best part? After 7 days of errands like dance class, choir rehearsal, grocery shopping, church events, dropping off tons of clothing and a 'mommy date' 35 miles away from home, the fact remains that I did not fill up the gas tank once."

"By the way, in case you are wondering…I did not loose any cool points from driving a mini van either. Still sleek and stylish."

Mazda Race fans

After six days of testing, practice, qualifying, and racing; six season-opening races in three Mazda-powered series; one 12-hour endurance race; and lots of excitement and fun in the Florida sun, we're relieved and grateful—if not a bit sad—to see the end of another exciting running of the American Le Mans Series' (ALMS) 12 Hours of Sebring.

Mazda CX9 in the news

"The profile of the CX-9 is long, but driving it doesn't feel like a car that can pack seven and also haul 3,500 pounds. It handles like a small...er car.”

Boston.com: "Mazda’s magic happens behind the wheel, where the SUV excels in speed, handling, and response.”

Examiner.com: "On the road, our CX-9 felt remarkably stable, more like a high-end German SUV ..." "This is worth noting, since the price was ... less than similar-size European vehicles.”
